New Fun Poll (At Least Fun for the Bear) UPDATE: Cooper & Beau Squee-worthy

UPDATE: Picture of Beau and the new puppy, Cooper. They couldn't be more different.

The Bear used to be a radio broadcaster. This was a great job for a Bear, if you think about it. People would frequently exclaim, "You're not at all how I imagined you!" (I bet!)

So how firmly established is the "Bear brand?" Do you relate to this blog as being written by a Bear? If so, what kind of Bear? Or is the whole thing as eccentric as Sebastian's teddy bear in Brideshead Revisited?

Things have been a bit polemical of late, so let's lighten the atmosphere. The Bear will consider your participation a personal favor.

  1. Your poll seems to be missing an answer: Winnie the Pooh

  2. This is one of my favorite blogs, and the only one written by a bear.

I do imagine a lightly anthropomorphic bear, but a real bear nonetheless, unlike Yogi or Paddington. The hat is a little small, perched on that large head, and the clothes have a distressing tendency to tear, Hulk-style, as a result of vigorous keyboard-pounding. (I imagine the bear Goss through a lot of keyboards.) And if I were charged with a capital crime, I would certainly find it reassuring to have a bear defending me.

  3. I like reading a blog by a bear. We took a quick poll in our house and we see the bear as a slightly scruffy, manly bear. Broad shoulders and long claws that took a bit of time to get used to typing with. Next to the Bear is a Satchel with, Bible, missal, Rosary and assorted Catholic goodies for prayer and reference. The only clothing is a good scapular and St. Benedict Medal.
Now the question, is Cooper afraid of the goats too?

  4. Cooper doesn't seem to be afraid of anything. He and Beau play all sorts of games together. He does cry at night from his large crate he sleeps in, is skin daddy stretched out next to him on the floor.
