Star Wars the Force Awakens (No Spoilers)

The Bear took his mate, former driver, bodyguard and factotum, Red Death, a.k.a. "The Shepherdess," and two of his grown sons to see the latest Star Wars movie. He and his mate saw the original in the Dream Theater in Carmel, California, and the excitement was much the same this time.

The welcome news is that director J.J. Abrams has salvaged the franchise at last. He competently delivers what fans of the original three movies want. Yeah, maybe he could be accused of playing it safe, but sometimes that's a good thing.

The Bear can't imagine any Star Wars fan being disappointed in this tribute to the original. Even as you know you're being played, you can't keep from grinning. The audience burst into applause several times.

The Bear gives this slick, nostalgic reboot to the franchise four out of five fish.

  1. Thanks for the heads up. The kids want to see it.

I will never forget my first Star Wars at 12 yrs. Old an uncle, who just passed away this year, RIP, took several of us to see it for my cousin's BDay. I am not a big sci-fi person, but I loved it.
