Rum, Romanism and Rebellion! Hair & Bear 2016!

Rum, Romanism and Rebellion

Of course, there is the small fact that the Bear appears to be denied re-entry into the United States, but if push comes to shove, the Bear's coming home anyway.

And, having been born in A.D. 735, can hardly be a natural born U.S. citizen! However, our lawyers are working on a Constitutional challenge that a law that requires an impossibility cannot be valid in the Bear's case. Even if that doesn't work, Donald says he doesn't care. "Who's going to stop us?" he said. In so many words.

The Bear thinks we're a natural team.

  1. You have my vote, and probably that of all the woodland creatures.

    1. No. But Photoshop can in the paws of a competent Bear.

  3. I'm very disappointed to see the Bear run second-fiddle to anyone, much less Trump. Run independent and I could see my way to voting for Bear. Maybe even Bear and Flea.

I refuse to vote for Trump out of fear of Hillary. It's like voting for Schonborn over Kasper for pope.

    1. It's nothing like that utubeo. Don't drink the Kool-Aid, don't drink it! If she gets in, we're finished. At this point it makes no sense whatsoever to not vote for Donald Trump. Is he the "perfect" candidate, of course not, but he's not blatantly evil as she is. This is not the time to give Hillary a vote by not showing up.

    2. Hillary will get us into a war with Russia. Remember, she wanted to go into Syria on the side of the "moderate Muslims" who became ISIS.

If you don't like Trump, vote to keep Hillary out of the White House in order to better protect the remaining Christians.

    3. What do you mean it's nothing like that? Both you, Kathleen and Lurker, are showing nothing but fear of Hillary, and running to some other candidate who says a few things that are not as disturbing.

You have no idea what Trump might or might not do. There's some question of whether Trump knows, except that it will be good for Trump. Do you know anything about his history, or how his father built the family wealth? Do you know how he's been cutthroat with his own business partners, let alone his wives? Trump is a master at social media and playing the emotions of the voters. If immigrant amnesty was the emotion of the day, he would be advocating that--not Walls and mass deportation. He has never shown the slightest scruples in his career.

I did not say I was not showing up to vote; I said I was not voting for Trump. It makes perfect sense to not vote for him: he's a terrible candidate. Voting for the lesser evil may be morally permissible, but that does not mean it is virtuous.

As it was, NO republican candidate was getting my vote. Some were worse than others, but none had a proper vision, and that is in no small part because the GOP does not have a proper vision.

You think we're finished if Hillary gets in? I hate to break it to you, but we're finished already. We have institutionalized child sacrifice and State sanctioned sodomitical unions. And it's arguable that, at least with overseas production, we're guilty of the other two sins that cry out for vengeance.

It's time to come to grips that the American experiment failed. It was the first government established on the errors of the Enlightenment. Many readers keep asking the Bear to write to wake people up to the Church. It's time to wake up about America and its future.

What I won't do is cravenly cave to the lesser of evils, to try to avoid what America justly deserves for its sins. There is no national defense against the Wrath of God. Color me "a sign of contradiction". I will not make a pact with the devil to fight satan. he doesn't care which you pick: GOP or Dem. Making those kind of earthly alliances did not work out for Israel, and it won't work out for America.

There is one hope. The people repent before Divine judgment. I know of only two times in history where repentance comes first (and the second is debatable), and I see no evidence of this happening here in our country.

      Gird your loins.

    4. utubeo~

No, the country is already toast, like you said. Getting the American Experiment back on the road isn't where we are headed. What will be will be something new.

With Hillary, it will be war, likely with Russia. I conferred with three wise persons tonight and they all concurred that she is a war hawk who would be looking to prove herself. One of this group is a chairperson of a non-mainstream Christian political party. That person won't be voting Trump, but stated that Hillary will likely lead us into a war.

If everything is going to blowup, as you suggest, then you want to have as controlled of an explosion as possible. As I mentioned, the "not Hillary" is not for this Country, but for people elsewhere, especially Christians.

Trump might very well torpedo this country economically, but if it prevents a war where this country is the bad guy, that is good controlled explosion.

We are no where near seeing a government that is based on the natural law anytime soon. That is simply not a choice. When you are loosing at chess, you have to still be strategic in which pieces you loose in the hopes that an opening will appear.

But then again I am rather bad at reading political tea leaves.

    5. I don't know who these anonymous "three wise persons" are but I'm more than skeptical of their analysis. Hillary is a political mannequin whose handlers dress her up in whatever political pantsuit goes with the current fashion. She is risk adverse, and war with a nuclear nation is anything but risk adverse. She's looking for 8 yrs in the White House.

I don't know what you mean by thinking "not Hillary" is for Christians elsewhere. I can't name a single instance of American foreign policy being driven by concern for Christians, esp Catholic ones, but I can name a number that were adverse for Christians. So maybe you're afraid that Russia's concern might be interfered with.

Maybe we will end up with war with Russia, but if so, it's because it's already in the making. The verbal propaganda machine against Putin was running pretty high a while ago and encouraged by the GOP. The verbal assault is the first step. Considering that GOP candidates were talking a no-fly zone in Syria, can you really say the GOP is any safer?

As for war in general, we've been at war for decades and still are. Where have you been?

When you're losing in chess, all you can hope for is a blunder by the opponent. When the opponent decides to simplify by trading pieces off the board, trying to protect pieces just results in being forced into worse tactical positions.

Your best "not Hillary" option is that she gets indicted, although I'm not sure she'd back out even then.

  4. Great idea Bear. Now, not only can The Donald's enemies be browbeaten, they can also be eaten. That should get some attention. Brilliant idea. Congrats.

    1. That comes from a speech given by a minister in support of the Republican Blain-Logan ticket. (The Bear has written about it -- search box.) Logan was a civil war general from the Bear's county. He said the Democrats were the party of "rum, romanism and rebellion." The speech was widely reported and the Republicans, who were favored to win, lost when Irish Catholics in New York, offended by the phrase, voted Democrat. But the Bear kind of likes it.
