Bear Lent Book Coming Soon

The Bear is putting the final touches on a book dear to his ursine heart: St. Corbinian's Bear's Lenten Companion for Bearish Humans. Forty edifying stories of the bumbling Bear's very first Lent under the wise spiritual direction of St Corbinian himself. It is lavishly illustrated by the Bear's multi-talented daughter, Ragan Black.

Prayers requested for a speedy end (just six more stories to go!) and that it brings good to someone.

It is not a devotional. It is about the ways we sabotage Lent for ourselves. But, you'll learn about Bee Lights, and the five secrets to a healthy spiritual life. Does the Bear persevere? Or will he end his Lent with a purpl'd muzzle after a trip to the pony pasture? Other features include study questions, and, of course, the real story of St. Corbinian and his Bear.

Read about the surprising connecting between Pope Benedict and the Bear here.

The book will be published by Hope and Life Press.

    1. I need to find a good writing day. The artwork is finished. It includes some Benedictine spirituality. Much of it is funny. I wanted people to see themselves in our Bear.

  2. I never knew any of that - so very apt, our true relationship with Our Lord, our Dear Eternal Father, and the Most Holy and Loving Spirt. Ah to be their beast of burden !
but I write not for how edifying you are, but rather to ask if you would provide the occasional update photos of your goat family ? and also wondering if your wife will be eventually using goat hair in weaving ....

    1. We might try a mohair goat. These are too short haired to weave.

    1. Yes, she did. There's not much she can't do. A nice change of pace from the industrial photography at which she makes her living. She also has the trained voice of an angel. Actually makes a decent living with an MFA. Happily married.
